AI is less regulated than milk, says Microsoft president

LISTEN I ONLY READ THIS AN HOUR AGO BUT APPARENTLY WE ARE TOTALLY SCREWED BECAUSE MICROSOFT’S BRAD SMITH JUST SAID OUR SMARTPHONES AND CHATBOTS HAVE ZERO RULES COMPARED TO A CARTON OF SKIM MILK OR A WASHING MACHINE WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE HE THINKS WE NEED GLOBAL SAFETY LAWS RIGHT NOW! HE WANTS LEGALLY MANDATED EMERGENCY BRAKES FOR WHEN AI GOES ROGUE AND HE IS LITERALLY CLASHING WITH TRUMP WHO WANTS THE US TO SELF-REGULATE SO WE DONT FALL BEHIND CHINA! APPARENTLY SMITH SAYS WE NEED OUTSIDE PEOPLE SIGNING OFF ON THIS TECH BEFORE IT EVEN LAUNCHES, WHICH IS INSANE SINCE HE CALLS AI BOTH A TOOL AND A WEAPON THAT WE ARE LOSING CONTROL OVER AND HONESTLY I HAVE NO CLUE HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS BUT THE GUY IS PANICKING, ANYWAY I NEED A WATER IMMEDIATELY.

Microsoft president Brad Smith is calling for global AI regulations, arguing that AI is currently less monitored and regulated than basic household goods like milk and washing machines.
