One type of sleep linked to dramatically lower risk of dementia, Parkinson's and 81 other diseases

THE THING NOBODY EXPLAINED PROPERLY IS THAT GETTING GOOD SLEEP MIGHT LITERALLY SAVE YOUR BRAIN LATER WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE THIS NEW STUDY JUST TRACKED NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND ADULTS FOR NINE YEARS. IT TURNS OUT MORE REM SLEEP IS LINKED TO A HUGE EIGHTY PERCENT LOWER RISK OF PARKINSONS AND FORTY-SIX PERCENT LOWER RISK OF DEMENTIA ACCORDING TO RESEARCHERS USING WRIST MONITORS. THEY LOOKED AT EIGHTY-THREE DIFFERENT DISEASES LIKE HEART FAILURE TOO AND USED ALGORITHMS TO FIGURE OUT EXACTLY HOW WE ARE SLEEPING BUT THEY ARE NOT SAYING WHY REM IS THE MAGIC KEY YET SO WE ARE ALL JUST GUESSING. IT IS SCARY TO THINK WE MIGHT HAVE CONTROL OVER THIS BUT I REALLY HOPE WE DO BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS THOSE OUTCOMES. ANYWAY I AM FINE, EVERYTHING IS FINE.

A study of over 95,000 adults found that higher amounts of REM sleep are linked to a significantly lower risk of 83 diseases, including dementia and Parkinson's.
