Could El Niño mean there are no Atlantic hurricanes this year?

WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR THE NUMBERS ON THIS BECAUSE I PUT MY DRINK DOWN WHEN I READ THAT NOT A SINGLE ATLANTIC HURRICANE FORMED IN SEPTEMBER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER THIRTY YEARS, WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE SEPTEMBER IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE PEAK AND NOW WE MIGHT GET ZERO HURRICANES ALL SEASON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE ENTIRE SATELLITE ERA! AND THE WHOLE REASON IS THIS MASSIVE EL NIÑO CREATING CRAZY UPPER WIND SHEAR THAT LITERALLY SHREDS STORMS TO PIECES OVER THE ATLANTIC, BUT MEANWHILE THE PACIFIC IS RUNNING TWO AND A HALF TIMES MORE ACTIVE THAN NORMAL WITH BROKEN HEAT RECORDS AND SEVENTEEN NAMED STORMS INCLUDING NINE HURRICANES AND SEVEN MAJOR ONES! SO THE ATLANTIC JUST HAS FOUR WEAK TROPICAL STORMS AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON THE HORIZON FOR WEEKS. ANYWAY THE DJ IS COOKING, LET US GO.

A strong El Niño has suppressed Atlantic hurricane activity, resulting in zero September hurricanes and the potential for the first hurricane-free Atlantic season of the satellite era.
