Three things we've learnt about the UK economy from the IMF

TBH THIS ONE IS WILD DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE IMF FORECAST YET? NO? OKAY SO THE IMF JUST CAME OUT AND SAID THE UK ECONOMY IS ACTUALLY GROWING FASTER THAN THEY THOUGHT WHICH IS HONESTLY A BIT WEIRD GIVEN EVERYTHING ELSE. THEY RECKON WE ARE LOOKING AT 1.3% GROWTH FOR 2026 INSTEAD OF THAT MEASLY 1% THEY TOLD US IN JULY. APPARENTLY THIS IS ALL THANKS TO AI INVESTMENT KEEPING THINGS AFLOAT GLOBALLY WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE ENERGY PRICES ARE STILL A TOTAL MESS DUE TO STUFF HAPPENING IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND THE BANK OF ENGLAND IS PROBABLY GOING TO HIKE INTEREST RATES AGAIN TO STOP INFLATION. IT IS ALL A BIT OF A WEIRD BALANCING ACT BUT THE IMF IS LESS PESSIMISTIC THAN THEY WERE. ANYWAY I WILL SEND YOU THE LINK TOMORROW.
