Lawmakers in bipartisan statement push back on Trump over Russian oil

GENUINELY WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY BECAUSE SEVEN SENATORS FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE JUST SNAPPED OVER THIS TRUMP PUTIN DEAL, WHICH IS CRAZY BECAUSE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT LIFTING SANCTIONS ON RUSSIAN OIL. APPARENTLY THIS WOULD LET THAT OIL FLOW RIGHT BACK INTO THE GLOBAL ECONOMY, AND THE SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE IS LOSING THEIR MINDS ABOUT IT. CONGRESS LITERALLY BANNED RUSSIAN ENERGY IMPORTS BACK IN 2022 TO STOP OUR MONEY FROM FUNDING WHAT THEY CALL A BRUTAL SITUATION, AND NOW SUDDENLY THINGS ARE SHIFTING. I DO NOT EVEN KNOW IF THIS OIL IS ALREADY MOVING OR IF IT IS JUST A PROPOSAL ON PAPER, BUT THE BIPARTISAN PUSHBACK IS HEAVY RIGHT NOW. I MEAN, HOW DO YOU JUST REVERSE A BAN LIKE THAT WITHOUT ANY CLARITY? OK TELL ME THAT IS NOT WILD.

A bipartisan group of seven senators on the Foreign Relations Committee is opposing President Trump's deal to lift sanctions on Russia and allow Russian oil to re-enter the global economy.
