From BJ’s to Lululemon, retailers are trimming assortments to boost business

I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW THIS BUT APPARENTLY RETAILERS ARE FREAKING OUT BECAUSE NOBODY IS BUYING ANYTHING SO NOW THEY ARE JUST DELETING PRODUCTS FROM THEIR SHELVES TO SAVE CASH! LIKE DOLLAR GENERAL CUT 1,500 ITEMS AND UNDER ARMOUR IS SLASHING THEIR STOCK BY 25% WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE THEY ARE HOPING THIS STOPS THEM FROM BEING STUCK WITH STUFF NOBODY WANTS, AND BJ’S WHOLESALE AND LULULEMON ARE DOING THE SAME THING TO PROTECT THEIR PROFIT MARGINS SINCE APPARENTLY DISCOUNTING IS RUINING THEIR VIBE! IT IS ALL ABOUT STOPPING MARKDOWNS BUT IT MEANS FEWER CHOICES FOR US AT THE STORE! BASICALLY THEY ARE TRIMMING THE FAT BECAUSE HIGH GAS AND FOOD PRICES MEAN WE ARE BROKE AND THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE THE QUARTER. ANYWAY I HOPE SOMEBODY IS WRITING THIS DOWN.

Retailers including BJ's, Lululemon, and Under Armour are reducing their product variety to cut costs and avoid excessive discounting as consumer spending slows due to inflation.
